I have always thought that one can do whatever he wants and that we are not predestined to anything. Who rules over our decisions? Ourselves. The decision to create this blog comes straight from the desire to share business experiences.

Ever since I was I child, I have had my life driven by a clear motto: IT IS NEVER TOO LATE TO DO WHAT YOU LIKE AND / OR TO START ALL OVER AGAIN.  This idea may have come up because of the memories of my father, who was born at the close of the 19th century in a small village from the province of Zamora, Spain. In the first years of the 20th century, he emigrated to the United States, which was a very unusual destination at the time, since the average Spanish emigrant would rather choose going to Cuba or South America looking for a chance to make a fortune. I traced him back in the Fifteenth Census Of The United States: 1930 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1930_United_States_Census when he lived near Pittsburgh, hometown of the big steel companies at the time. There, he carried out all kinds of jobs, from copper, laying rail-tracks, and barman, hotel manager, real estate agent, cook and even smuggler during the Prohibition years, surviving during the Great Depression up until the end of the Second World War. At the end of the 1940’s, he was deported to Spain and he had to start all over again, sometimes successfully, some other times less successfully. Having this thought around, I felt like starting my own virtual adventure, the one which means developing my own blog and discern whether WE MANAGE OR WE ARE MANAGED. I personally prefer the first option, and this way, a blog allows you to start all over again and manage it yourself –we will see whether I get that or not.

At this initial stage, I would not like to forget that, in order to manage, you need the help and the understanding of PEOPLE as well as two tools which have helped me a lot along my career: INTERNET and MARKETING. With these two ingredients, I will do my best in order to get closer to companies, executives, markets and people so I can add something to them, share and renew some IDEAS ABOUT MANAGEMENT.

We manage or we are managed
